Down Syndrome Ireland's Cork Branch is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team.

As part of a small and dynamic team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes across the organisation.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will take responsibility for a range of bookkeeping and administrative duties and work closely with our branch and liaise with National Office.
The role of Bookkeeper requires a versatile individual with excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills to ensure the efficient execution of our activities.
Key Responsibilities and Duties: Manage day-to-day bookkeeping including purchase and sales invoice processing and bank reconciliations.
Ensure accurate coding and posting of transactions on XERO accounting software.
Process creditor payments and carry out credit control functions.
Prepare and complete monthly bank reconciliations.
Assist in the preparation and processing of month-end accounts.
Support the statutory audit process through preparation and provision of documentation.
Respond to financial queries from members and liaise on financial administration as required.
To maintain accurate financial records and provide timely, reliable financial information to support the Operations Manager and Branch Treasurer in effective decision-making.
Attend monthly meetings with branch Finance Committee.
Preparation of budgets for discussion with branch Finance Committee.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports as requested by management.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Support the Operations Manager with financial data to inform strategic and operational decisions.
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and internal policies.
Engage with staff and members in a consistently professional and respectful manner.
Any other tasks and duties as requested by management to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission and support our organizational values Essential Requirements: Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar bookkeeping or finance administration role Proven experience using XERO accounting software (essential) Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook High level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines Excellent organisational skills with a methodical approach to work Strong verbal and written communication skills Fluent in spoken and written English Good numeracy and analytical skills Positive, flexible attitude and a team-oriented approach Why Join Us?

Location: Contract: 12 months Fixed Term Hours: Part-time, 3 - 4 days Tuesday to Friday for 18 hours per week Salary: €37,919 pro rata
