Overview
Réalta Technologies are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer with strong Allen-Bradley PLC expertise to support a leading Medical Device client in Cork. Responsibilities
Lead the programming, testing, and commissioning of Allen-Bradley PLC systems (ControlLogix, CompactLogix).
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve automation and control issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum reliability.
Integrate PLCs with HMI/SCADA platforms (such as FactoryTalk View) and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Maintain and update all technical documentation, including system configurations, code annotations, and schematics.
Support system upgrades, validation, and compliance activities in line with regulatory standards.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety, and reliability.
Provide technical input and mentorship to junior engineers or technicians as required.
Requirements
Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Controls, or related field.
4–5 years’ experience as an Automation Engineer in a manufacturing environment (medical device or pharma preferred).
Proven experience with Allen-Bradley platforms (Studio 5000, RSLogix 5000) and HMI/SCADA integration.
Good knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, or ControlNet.
Understanding of validation, compliance, and data integrity within regulated industries.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
