We are recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Manager to join our client's team in South Mayo on a permanent contract.
Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate the activities of two warehouse operatives, providing leadership, training, and daily direction.
Hands-on involvement in picking, packing, loading, unloading, and general warehouse duties.
Oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of fresh and frozen food products, ensuring correct handling and temperature control.
Manage stock levels, including stock rotation (FIFO), stock checks, and reconciliation to maintain accuracy.
Plan daily and weekly workflows to meet customer delivery schedules and operational priorities.
Monitor and maintain warehouse organisation, cleanliness, and safe working conditions.
Ensure compliance with food safety standards (HACCP), health & safety regulations, and company procedures.
Manage inventory systems, updating data and producing basic reports as required.
Liaise with drivers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes and efficiency.
Requirements: Previous experience in warehouse management or senior warehouse operative roles (food distribution or cold chain experience highly desirable).
Strong understanding of fresh and frozen food handling, temperature control, and stock rotation.
Comfortable working in chilled and frozen environments.
Experience supervising or coordinating a small team.
Excellent organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Competence with warehouse or inventory management systems.
Counterbalance and/or reach truck licence (preferred but not essential).
Good communication skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
