Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?Wealth Management Europe's existing Training and Competence (T&C) team have implemented a centralised supervisory structure with the aim of creating capacity for our advisers and driving adviser performance. As a Supervisor, you will work in a team of T&C Supervision experts to deliver quality and risk oversight throughout the business. In doing so, supporting and facilitating Advisers through their 'attaining' and 'maintaining' processes evidencing competence through a range of activities i.e. observation, coaching and feedback.What will you do?Deliver Supervision consistently throughout your area of responsibility using your experience and judgment, liaising with key stakeholders.Ensure that all Advisers understand the importance of T&C encouraging self-development, stretch and sign posting to solutions, coaching where needed to support good client outcomes and the wider business goals.Ensure a risk management approach is applied in a tailored and impactful way including effective root cause analysis and remedial actions; positive and collaborative engagement with offices and advisers; evidence of good customer outcomes being achieved through intervention.Use MI/Data and critical thinking to identify patterns/root cause and focus Supervision priorities.Work with line managers to ensure Advisers can consistently apply the firm's investment philosophy, asset allocation strategy and work appropriately to client or risk mandates.Make appropriate decision pertaining to whether an employee is competent to perform their role. When decisions are made actions are appropriately followed up, root causes identified & consideration is given to whether systemic changes or other types of changes are requiredActively engage with investment committees to ensure understanding of strategic asset allocation decisions and how this is understood by Advisers.Work closely with line managers creating shared goals and objectives for management of performance and risk, supporting the creation and management of effective development plans with Advisers and line managers to enable and measure improvement.Make appropriate decisions pertaining to whether an employee is competent to perform their role. When decisions are made actions are appropriately followed up, root causes identified & consideration is given to whether systemic changes or other types of changes are required.Influence positive attitudes and behaviours towards conduct, competence and client outcomes across all stakeholders.Openly communicate and work with managers, supporting and challenging their decision making from a T&C perspective.Adopt a continuous improvement approach to all things: seeking to evolve ways of working aligned to strategic aims and ensuring that the T&C procedures are fit for purpose.What do you need to succeed?Must-haveHolds Level 7 Diploma qualificationEnsure own competence as a Supervisor is maintained to perform role and up to date CPD.Strong understanding of investment instruments, asset allocation, portfolio construction and risk managementPrevious experience advising clients or supervising/managing Advisers and providing technical guidance and direction as a subject matter expertUnderstanding of the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) MCC (Minimum Competency Code) and broader wider regulatory environmentAble to apply MCC and CBI guidance with confidence and flexibility across a wide range of situationsExperience working effectively alongside other business teams (L&D, Risk & Compliance, HR)Strong analysis skills and ability to use in-depth understanding of business metrics, investment philosophy and current knowledge of markets and economics to consider if trends could have been avoided or mitigated.Ability to make effective decisions through a balance of data analysis, engagement with appropriate stakeholders and consideration of risk to clients, business and Advisors.
