Organisation Description
The EMEA Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC), Specialized Monitoring and Testing Team is part of EMEA Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk Management (CCOR), and is responsible for managing and executing testing across all lines of business in EMEA covering all aspects of Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk.
Job Summary
As a Senior Associate in the EMEA CCOR Monitoring and Testing team, you will be responsible for the timely and effective management and execution of the EMEA CCOR GFCC (Specialized) testing activities to assess the effectiveness of financial crime related processes and controls. You will also lead and support other EMEA CCOR GFCC testing programmes/projects as required.
Role Responsibilities
* Execution of the EMEA CCOR Specialized Monitoring and Testing Programme in line with the firm’s expectations.
* Perform testing to assess the design and effectiveness of controls addressing operational, compliance and conduct risks.
* Self‑managed testing of business processes and controls against regulatory requirements.
* Partner with Operational Risk and Compliance managers and business stakeholders.
* Validate that action plans address identified issues in line with the firm’s expectations.
* Participate in departmental projects, including the development of the Annual Testing Plan.
* Work with global testing partners to support global testing assignments as directed.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Financial Crime/Compliance or Operational Risk Management, with expertise in BSA/AML/KYC/Sanctions areas (alternative experience such as audit, operations, business control management, or similar accepted).
* ACAMS, ICA, or comparable certification preferred.
* Strong communication and influencing skills; ability to collaborate across groups.
* Proven stakeholder management track record.
* Understanding of operational risks and ability to challenge associated business controls.
* Ability to interpret financial regulations and assess operational compliance.
* Good analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of control design and root cause analysis.
* Clear verbal and written communication skills.
* Organizational skills to independently manage, prioritize, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
* Comfortable interacting with and presenting to senior management, control functions, internal and external auditors.
