Events Executive- Schoolhouse Hotel & Gastrobar, D4Position DetailsJob Title: Events ExecutiveReports to: Senior ManagerLocation: The Schoolhouse Hotel, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4Contract Type: Full-time, PermanentWorking Hours: Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week (on-site) – flexibility depending on events.Salary: €33,000 - €40,000 per annum (depending on experience) and potential sales bonusAbout The SchoolhouseWe are a Boutique 4* Hotel and GastroBar based in the leafy suburbs of Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. Located just minutes from all the city's top attractions and main shopping areas. A listed building, the Schoolhouse was established in 1859 and has many of the original architectural features within the thirty-one newly renovated guest bedrooms.Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic Events Executive to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all private and group event enquiries, optimising revenue across our venues, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role requires a blend of sales expertise, creative event planning, and strategic business development skills.Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Sales & CoordinationRespond professionally to all internal and external enquiries for private and group events, consulting with relevant materials, pricing, and availabilityMeet and greet prospective corporate clients and groups, conducting professional site visits to secure bookingsCoordinate and manage events across all F&B areas including the Blue Room, Board Room, and various internal and external dining optionsSupport the overall coordination and execution of events, ensuring client satisfaction and operational excellenceAdministrative & Systems ManagementEnsure excellent administration in recording and securing deposits, purchase orders, and invoices on HotsoftMaintain proficiency in OpenTable and online booking enginesProcess bookings accurately, ensuring all client requirements are documented and communicated to relevant departmentsMaintain comprehensive event records and client database in accordance with GDPR policiesRevenue & Business DevelopmentOptimise capacity across all venues in conjunction with our calendar of events and marketing/PR activitiesStrategically analyse new, existing, and potential customer bases to improve engagement with leisure and corporate clientsIdentify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling hotel servicesContribute to revenue targets through proactive sales activitiesMarketing & CommunicationsConsult with Senior Management to ensure timely updates of seasonal menus, prices, and promotional materials across all digital channelsRespond professionally to online reviews and feedback in consultation with Senior ManagementSupport the development of event marketing materials and promotional campaignsMaintain strong relationships with external suppliers and stakeholdersOperational PlanningConsult with Senior Management weekly to update on upcoming events for effective rostering and planningLiaise between kitchen, service, and operations teams to ensure seamless event deliveryManage timelines and ensure all event objectives are met within agreed timeframesEssential RequirementsExperience & QualificationsMinimum 2 years' experience in event management, hospitality sales, or tourism industryIdeally a third-level qualification in Business, Tourism Management, Hospitality, or related field preferredExperience with Property Management Systems (PMS) and booking softwarePrevious experience in hotel reception, revenue management, or destination management organisations is highly advantageousTechnical SkillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Experience with hotel systems such as Hotsoft, MEWS, or similar PMSKnowledge of OpenTable and online booking enginesDigital marketing skills including social media management and basic design capabilities (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)Experience with CRM systems and email marketing platformsPersonal AttributesExcellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)Additional European languages, particularly German or French, are highly desirableConfident, credible, and proactive with proven ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detailStrong commercial awareness with ability to identify and convert sales opportunitiesPeople-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills, tactful and diplomaticCreative problem-solver capable of resolving demanding situationsPassionate about delivering exceptional customer experiencesWhat We OfferCompetitive salary of €35,000 - €40,000 depending on experienceFull-time permanent position with job securityProfessional development opportunities within a boutique hotel environmentStaff mealsEmployee discounts across hotel servicesFriendly, supportive team environmentOpportunity to work in a historic, prestigious Dublin 4 locationApplication RequirementsIn accordance with Irish employment legislation, all candidates must have the right to work in Ireland.
