Job Role:
A Quantity Surveyor is sought by a reputable business operating in Ireland, specializing in civil engineering services and road/airfield maintenance and construction. This full-time position offers flexibility, allowing the successful candidate to work a 4-day week within a hybrid working model.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all financial and contractual aspects of projects, with a strong focus on road maintenance involving bituminous and tar surfacing works.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying and relevant experience in a commercial, estimating, or quantity surveying role within the road maintenance or civil engineering sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage all financial and contractual elements of road maintenance projects to ensure delivery on budget, on time, and to specified standards.
* Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation.
* Oversight of procurement activities in line with framework and compliance requirements.
* Maintain up-to-date records of suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring they are vetted, approved, and compliant.
* Lead tendering and quoting processes from pre-qualification through to submission, ensuring profitability.
* Monitor and control project costs, preparing regular cost and progress reports for senior management.
Requirements:
* Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying with relevant experience.
* Proven experience in a commercial, estimating, or quantity surveying role within the road maintenance or civil engineering sector.
* Strong understanding of bituminous / tar surfacing works, materials, and methods would be highly advantageous.
