At our Jamestown site, we operate a modern meat processing facility focused on delivering high-quality products to domestic and international markets.
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team to help maintain equipment and ensure the smooth running of operations.
Key Responsibilities Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on all plant equipment and machinery (e.g., Curing Equipment, Food Packaging Machinery, Conveyors, HVAC equipment, Pneumatics, Hydraulics etc.)
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical faults to minimize downtime.
Work closely with production teams to ensure machinery operates at optimum performance.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and safety reviews.
Adhere to health & safety procedures and regulations at all times.
Respond promptly to breakdowns.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records.
Candidate Requirements Qualifications: Trades Qualification: Relevant mechanical or electrical qualification required.
Additional mechanical or engineering certifications are a plus.
Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in a similar maintenance role, ideally in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical knowledge ability to service and repair a wide range of machinery.
Availability to do required overtime.
Skills: Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Strong problem solving skills and the ability to multitask.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Desirable: Previous experience in the meat industry or fast-paced food production.
Awareness of food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP, BRC, etc.).
