Data & Reporting Analyst KennCo Underwriting, one of Irelands largest Insurance MGAs, is looking to hire a Reporting/Data Analyst to work in their busy IT Department. Located on the Grange Road in Rathfarnham, this exciting and innovative Underwriting agency is looking to hire someone dynamic that can fit into the the Reports Analyst, you will have a degree in a computer science / information technology / or computer related discipline. You will have 3+ years of similar experience in a financial company (or in a comparable industry) and will be comfortable working with all aspects of the data lifecycle. Responsibilities & Duties Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports Build, create, design and maintain complex queries and reports on various platforms Create a variety of Scheduled and Ad Hoc reports, across various platforms (dependent on stakeholder requirements) Manage the existing suite of reports and update filters and datasets where necessary. Work with Risk & Pricing team to Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets Work with management to prioritize business and information needs Be the go-to point for 3rd party Service Providers and Capital Providers and take part in any relevant calls and meetings Locate and define new process improvement opportunities High level of understanding of data analysis, emerging patterns and trends in the insurance market Present data and reports in a concise and clear way at various monthly /yearly meetings through various presentation platforms Technical Knowledge & Skills Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst Previous experience in the general Insurance Industry Very in-depth knowledge of the data that is being queried to really understand what is emerging from the information Strong analytical and inquisitive mind to take the initiative and analyse data from own perspective based on internal discussions with decision makers and present back to stakeholders Advanced knowledge and experience of SQL query for reporting building and ad hoc database querying Experience with this software a distinct advantage Microsoft Dynamics Navision or Business Central 365 Advanced SQL query Python/R Power BI IBM Cognos Analytics SSRS Advanced Excel/Macros Java/Javascript Comfortable managing data on a SQL database, including maintain Report Views and snapshot data Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy Good quality presentation skills and be able to communicate with high level management, board of directors and capital providers Good problem solving & proven troubleshooting skills Good communication and listening skills particularly the ability to communicate with those who are not technically skilled Proficient knowledge of all Office applications (Word / Excel, VB & Macros) Ability to work as part of a team
