Key Position Summary
This critical leadership role is responsible for designing and implementing building automation projects, overseeing a project team of 2-5 engineers and providing technical guidance to meet project objectives.
Job Responsibilities
1. Leadership and Project Support (20%)
* Direct and manage the project team, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.
* Develop project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
* Conduct customer meetings to discuss project progress and address concerns.
* Assist in proposal generation by estimating hardware costs and engineering effort required for a project.
* Maintain strong relationships with existing customers through effective communication and support.
2. Instrumentation and Electrical Design (30%)
* Create detailed instrument lists by examining P&ID drawings and research appropriate instrumentation devices.
* Research and select controls hardware suitable for each project, considering factors such as cost, performance, and reliability.
* Compile documentation for controls and instrument hardware submittals.
* Design electrical schematics for control enclosures and procure project hardware.
* Provide technical support to panel fabrication technicians and inspect completed control enclosures.
3. System Design and Configuration (30%)
* Lead customer design review meetings to ensure project alignment with customer requirements.
* Configure user interface and HMI screens to meet specific project needs.
* Implement DDC, PLC, and/or DCS control algorithms according to project specifications.
* Execute internal functional testing and quality control checks.
* Prepare system documentation and assist in customer demonstrations and acceptance testing.
4. Onsite System Commissioning (20%)
* Install project software and configuration onto site systems, ensuring seamless integration.
* Participate in point-to-point loop checks for all instrumentation and perform software calibration and tuning.
* Conduct comprehensive system tests and troubleshoot installation discrepancies.
* Support additional customer testing and program field modifications as required.
* Train customer representatives on operations and maintenance procedures.
