What you can expect in a typical day:

The role of the Maintenance Supervisor is to ensure that both mechanical and electrical maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently and with the long-term reliability of the equipment being a priority. The role is to act as the focal point for the execution of all works within their area of responsibility whether maintenance or project. The role is also responsible for driving safety, environmental and ethical standards across the area. Responsible for adherence to maintenance and reliability work processes in alignment with asset integrity and reliability strategies.


Responsibilities

* At the heart of our operations lies a commitment to excellence in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices. Continuously improve HSE culture compliance within Team and be seen as a leader in the area.
* Maintenance of the assigned Whitegate Refinery process equipment – (rotating, fixed, I&E&C equipment), assuring mechanical integrity by maintaining zero overdue PPMs both regulatory and statutory. Also, monitor and maintain the equipment in a timely manner to recognized standards.
* Work with Planner and Scheduler to build weekly and daily work schedules.
* Report back daily on work status to Superintendents, Scheduler & Execution Manager.
* Takes responsibility for the daily / weekly schedule and:
* Drive productivity of craft (mechanical and electrical/instrumentation) / day technician / contractor
* Review work packages for thoroughness
* Validate materials and specialist tools
* Coordinate work with subcontractors
* Monitor productivity
* Remove barriers to efficient work execution
* Audit work site following job completion
* Plan and execute emergency work activities
* Provide accurate/timely feedback of all work orders and:
* Ensure Bill of Material amendments are communicated to the procurement and Reliability Team
* Ensures work order history is completed in Maintenance Management System
* Identify and communicate defect elimination issues
* Understand and help deliver the Routine Maintenance budget for the area.
* Trouble shoot problems and engage technical resources as needed to support operations.
* Engender teamwork across areas and work groups. Encourage coordination and knowledge transfer between the area and the specialist groups (Engineering & Reliability Group).
* Coach and appraise reports, assess gaps and develop training plans
* Supervise supplemental contractors as necessary to meet department objectives.
* Provide input into functional training and development plans for maintenance personnel consistent with plant and individual needs.
* Lead and Participate in Refinery HSE Audit programs the performance of the service contractors.
* Assist with all related personnel actions, including final selection, training, performance management, discipline, safety, and grievance procedures in unionized environments.


Qualifications & Skills

Education and Experience

* Mechanical or E&I craft qualification
* Level 7 Degree in Mechanical or Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
* Leadership ability to manage a diverse workforce to achieve plant goals.
* Plant reliability, inspection and maintenance experience.
* Demonstrated Plant Maintenance competency.
* Min of 5 years’ experience of maintenance of refining equipment.
* Oracle skills to a proficient level.
* Team Player
* Effective time manager.
* Working knowledge of refinery topography
