Operating across two fully equipped clinic locations in Cherrywood and Swords, this partnership is redefining how private healthcare is delivered in Ireland. They are seeking an experienced General Practitioner to join this exciting venture and play a central role in delivering exceptional patient care across both or one of the new clinic sites. As a GP in one of the clinics, you will deliver high-quality consultations to patients presenting with a variety of conditions, supported by a dedicated Practice Nurse, Practice Manager, and integrated clinical systems. Key Responsibilities Clinical Care Provide core general medical services to patients within the safety limitations of the clinic environment. Have input into and oversight of specialist clinical services as appropriate and agreed. Develop specialist service areas within the practice where appropriate, contributing to the expansion of the clinical offering. Provide high-quality remote video consultations alongside in-person care, ensuring seamless continuity of service for all patients. Ensure continuity of care for all patients, effectively managing the transition between virtual and in-person consultations. Collaborate with the Practice Nurse and wider clinical team to manage chronic disease and implement preventative health strategies. Clinical Governance & Quality Oversight Take responsibility for leading and implementing the clinical governance agenda within the clinic(s), including the development and regular review of clinical protocols, performance data, and patient safety incidents such as significant event analysis and complaints review. Ensure adherence to all medical protocols, clinic policies, and clinical governance standards. Participate in team meetings, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives. Complete patient records accurately and promptly using the clinics electronic medical record system. Team Collaboration & Mentorship Work collaboratively with the Practice Nurse, Practice Manager, and wider clinical team to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care. Communicate effectively with patients, providing clear and empathetic explanations of conditions and treatment options. Oversee the training and onboarding process for new clinical staff, including GPs, Practice Nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Act as a mentor and guide to less experienced clinical team members, fostering a culture of continuous professional development and high clinical standards. Provide clinical supervision, advice, and professional support to other GPs and allied healthcare professionals within the WebDoctor service. Conduct staff onboarding, training, and performance appraisals as required. Work with the digital healthcare team to develop and manage hybrid healthcare services where appropriate. Service Development & Management Interface Actively contribute clinical expertise to the strategic development of new services and clinical pathways, ensuring innovative offerings meet regulatory requirements and patient needs. Support the phased rollout of new clinical services as the clinic grows. Serve as the primary clinical interface for the Practice Manager and operational team on day-to-day clinical issues, ensuring seamless integration between clinical service delivery and operational efficiency. Person Specification Essential Specialist registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC). Experience in general practice, with a minimum of 3 years post-specialist training preferred. Strong clinical acumen across a broad range of presentations. Excellent communication skills with a compassionate, patient-focused approach. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Up-to-date knowledge of medical best practices, national guidelines, and relevant legislation. Right to work in Ireland. Ability to mentor and guide junior clinical staff, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and high clinical standards. Experience in clinical governance processes, including leading clinical audits, reviewing significant events, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. Demonstrable management and leadership skills, with experience in or willingness to take responsibility for operational clinical oversight and team coordination. Desirable Experience in or willingness to develop skills in specialist areas. Experience with digital health platforms. Interest in contributing to service development and clinical innovation.
