Packaging Operations Team Lead

Compensation
12‑month contract, Salary €67,000–71,000 per annum
Responsibilities
* People management of direct reports including packaging technicians and shift leads
* Lead, coach and support the packaging team to ensure delivery of the production schedule
* Assist in troubleshooting and facilitate appropriate resolution of issues
* Partner closely with Packaging BPS, Warehouse, Quality (QA & QC), Engineering and other colleagues
* Represent the Packaging group at critical meetings (e.g. Daily Ops, S&OE, Functional Lead Team)
* Report on key performance indicators (e.g. schedule adherence, changeover performance, unplanned downtime)
* Promote and demonstrate a proactive approach to safety, industrial hygiene, environmental and regulatory compliance
* Ensure training records and training plans are in place, up to date and aligned with role requirements
* Maintain compliance of training materials, master batch records, SOPs and other documents under cGMP
* Lead and support daily operation of processing systems and collaborate with plant engineering to ensure equipment reliability and calibration
* Partner with validation SMEs to prepare/approve validation protocols, plans, executions and summary reports for ongoing validation and revalidation
* Instil Right First Time (six-sigma) and lean manufacturing practices to drive operational excellence
* Coach, mentor and train shift leads and packaging technicians on packaging processes, operational excellence tools and high-performance team behaviours
* Support performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to staff
* Assist in recruitment and onboarding for the Packaging Operations team
* Participate in plant optimisation initiatives to deliver strong value
* Work closely with the Packaging Project Lead to support delivery of the Packaging Strategic Master Plan
* Maintain visibility boards for packaging metrics and status, with focus on schedule adherence and changeover performance
* Perform desk-based tasks as required (e.g. MES exception closure, deviation investigation, administrative duties)
Requirements
* Pharmaceutical packaging operations experience with GMP/cGMP compliance.
* Expertise in equipment troubleshooting, calibration, and validation.
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Right First Time principles.
* Ability to manage production schedules, KPIs, and MES reporting.
* Strong QA/QC and documentation skills (SOPs, batch records, deviations, training compliance).
* Proficient in operational systems and production dashboards.
