We are hiring a Health care Assistant for a leading Nursing home in Carlow, Ireland.
Responsibilities Undertake personal hygiene and dress care duties for residents, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times.
Perform safe manual handling and transfer of residents in accordance with training and health and safety standards.
Assist with meal delivery and feeding, ensuring residents receive appropriate nutrition and hydration.
Maintain a clean and tidy environment by returning used trays and dishes to the kitchen and keeping resident rooms orderly.
Carry out bed making and linen changes to maintain hygiene and comfort.
Provide toileting and incontinence care, including emptying commodes and replacing catheter bags as required.
Support trained nurses in providing psychological and social support to residents.
Maintain continuous vigilance for the safety, wellbeing, and whereabouts of residents.
Adhere to infection control, hygiene, health, and safety regulations at all times.
Perform any other reasonable duties as required to support the care team and ensure high-quality resident care.
Requirements QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support, Nursing Studies, Community Care, Health Service Skills, or equivalent.
Relevant experience working in elderly care / residential care settings is desirable.
Good verbal and written English skills to communicate effectively with residents, family, and the care team.
