Overview:
Planet Blue Energy is seeking an experienced and skilled Roofer to join our solar installations team You will be responsible for the safe and professional installation of solar PV systems on a variety of roof types across Ireland. Key Responsibilities:
· Install solar panels and mounting systems on residential, commercial, and agricultural roofs to the highest standards of workmanship.
· Assess roof conditions and structural integrity to ensure safe and secure installations.
· Prepare roof surfaces, including removing and replacing tiles, cutting and sealing roof penetrations, and ensuring weatherproof installations.
· Work safely at heights using appropriate access equipment, harnesses, and fall protection systems.
· Collaborate closely with electricians and general operatives to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification.
· Engage professionally with customers, providing information about the work being undertaken and addressing any concerns.
· Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, building standards, and company quality requirements.
· Maintain and care for tools, equipment, and materials, ensuring proper storage and organisation.
· Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
· Complete installations within allocated timeframes whilst maintaining exceptional quality standards.
Skills & Qualifications:
· Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a qualified roofer or in related trades such as cladding or industrial glazing.
· Proven experience working safely at heights with competent use of harnesses and fall protection equipment.
· Strong knowledge of various roof types, including pitched, flat, slate, tile, and metal roofing systems.
· Up-to-date understanding of Health and Safety legislation and safe working practices.
· Valid full clean driving licence.
· Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and Working at Heights certifications (or willingness to obtain).
· Previous experience with solar panel installations is advantageous.
· Excellent attention to detail with pride in delivering quality workmanship.
· Strong communication skills and professional customer-facing manner.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Physically fit and capable of performing all job requirements.
