Overview
We are growing our team We are seeking an experienced and high performing lawyer with substantial technology experience to join our EMEA legal team to serve our markets in France, Spain and Italy. The role will primarily see you drafting, negotiating, and managing our sales contracts with customers, as well as providing advice on diverse legal areas including things like data privacy, artificial intelligence and intellectual property.
We are looking for a fully qualified lawyer who is fluent in French and has experience in operating as a lawyer in that market. Ideally you could also speak in Spanish or Italian. You would be the second member of our EMEA legal team and will report to the EMEA Assistant General Counsel.
The preference for this position is that the successful candidate will work from our Cork office however applicants seeking a hybrid or remote position inside the UK or EEA will also be considered.
Responsibilities
* Review, negotiate and interpret outbound software license agreements (both on premise and SaaS), data protection agreements, services agreements and other software sales related agreements including distributor and reseller agreements.
* Assist with legal operations initiatives, including improving department policies and procedures, training, technology solutions, and other areas.
* Work with cross-functional teams in defining, developing, and revising SaaS/cloud terms and conditions, contract templates, licensing models, partner and channel programs and related corporate policies, procedures and programs.
* Monitor developments in legislation and case law across the European and local level to anticipate changing regulatory requirements and adapt contracting practices and procedures to reflect the law.
Qualifications
* Fluent in in the French language, and in particular with legal terms and concepts.
* Fully qualified lawyer in a European jurisdiction (ideally France) with 5 + years of technology transactional experience -- drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a variety of customer and partner transactions concerning things like such as software license agreements, SaaS, personal data processing, professional services and reseller agreements
* Able to effectively deal with high-volume, rapid cycles, multiple assignments, concurrent deadlines, and changing priorities
* Proactive and able to work independently, efficiently, towards deadlines, and manage multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment
* Previous in-house experience at a software or technology company with cloud solutions. Strong professional judgment, practicality, and client service focus.
* Excellent analytical skills, with confidence to act on best information available and not wait for absolute certainty
* Strong judgment, attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated teaming ability to work well with, influence, and inform diverse groups, including peers and clients.
