Overview
Our client is a large South American–headquartered conglomerate with international operations across multiple industries, including Marine Energy Support Services. To support their Dublin entities and global operations, they are seeking an experienced Accountant. This role involves ensuring compliance with Irish and international accounting standards.
Responsibilities
* Assist with daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, billing and expense processing.
* Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and reconciliations (bank, debtors, creditors).
* Post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.
* Assist with VAT returns, payroll journals, and other compliance activities.
* Prepare supporting schedules for audit and tax purposes.
* Contribute to process improvements and documentation of financial procedures.
* Collaborate with other departments to provide timely financial information and resolve queries.
* Support ad hoc finance projects as required.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
* 3-5 years’ experience in an accounting role; internship or placement experience welcomed.
* Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles (GAAP).
* Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and good Excel skills.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Good communication and organisational skills.
* Willingness to learn, with ambition to pursue a professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
