DevOps Team Lead
A global technology organisation delivering connected software solutions across international markets is seeking an experienced DevOps Team Lead to manage and evolve its DevOps / Developer Experience function.
The Role
This position sits within the DevOps and Architecture group and is responsible for enabling fast, reliable software delivery across cloud and on-premise environments. The team focuses on infrastructure automation, continuous delivery, developer tooling, and engineering experience optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and develop a high-performing DevOps / DevEx team
2. Drive DevOps best practices across engineering teams
3. Automate build, test, and deployment processes across cloud and data centre environments
4. Improve CI/CD pipelines and self-service capabilities
5. Oversee hybrid infrastructure (cloud and virtualised data centre)
6. Partner with Engineering Leaders and Architects to align tooling and standards
7. Implement engineering quality dashboards and performance metrics
8. Promote Lean principles and continuous improvement
9. Track and report on operational and delivery metrics
10. Stay current with DevOps, cloud, and infrastructure trends
Required Experience
11. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field
12. Strong people management and leadership skills
13. Proven experience in CI/CD, automation, and DevOps practices
14. Experience managing hybrid environments (AWS and/or Azure + on-prem DC)
15. Hands-on experience with virtualised environments (., VMware)
16. Experience with distributed systems (REST, SOA, Microservices, SaaS)
17. Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy (or similar)
18. Strong Git and branching strategy knowledge (., Gitflow)
19. Agile delivery experience
20. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desirable
21. Experience with highly scalable, highly available SaaS platforms
22. Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
23. Demonstrated ownership, initiative, and continuous improvement mindset
