This is a senior, hands-on architecture role with responsibility for defining, governing, and evolving a complex enterprise firewall estate across on-prem and cloud environments.You will act as the primary firewall authority, shaping strategy, architecture, and standards while working closely with infrastructure, security, and project teams across a highly distributed environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the enterprise firewall architecture, including strategy, roadmaps, and technical standardsAct as lead architect for a Palo Alto firewall estate, covering HLDs, LLDs, rulesets, and change designProvide architectural input across IT projects, ensuring security-by-design principles are embeddedDefine firewall components of incident response and cyber resilience plansAct as an escalation point for major security incidents, including out-of-hours support when requiredProvide technical oversight of internal engineers and third-party service providersLead firewall rule reviews, remediation activities, and responses to penetration tests and auditsMentor junior engineers and support the wider security function as a subject-matter expertExperience & SkillsProven experience in Firewall Architecture or Senior Network Security Engineering rolesStrong hands-on expertise with Palo Alto firewalls in large enterprise environmentsExperience designing firewall solutions in hybrid cloud environments (Azure)Strong understanding of security operations, incident response, and governanceComfortable working in regulated, business-critical environmentsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholdersQualificationsDegree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related disciplinePalo Alto certifications strongly preferredBroader security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are advantageousExperience working with managed service providers and external vendors
