Coffey is currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Manager to support new and existing projects. The Commercial Manager oversees company needs, handles daily business issues, manages associations, and recognizes business opportunities. The role involves constant communication and negotiation with clients and business associates. The Commercial Manager must utilize their knowledge to verify, oversee, and approve commercial agreements and documentation to ensure successful contract delivery in conjunction with the Operations Directors.
Responsibilities:
1. Maintaining good relations with clients and their representatives at all times.
2. Representing the company's interests at meetings related to their work.
3. Supporting Regional Directors in performing commercial and contractual duties.
4. Liaising with other departments to improve service provision.
5. Preparing monthly, interim, and final valuations, payment applications, and cost reconciliations.
6. Providing information for regular cash flow and contract position reviews.
7. Recovering all monies due for work undertaken.
8. Placing supplier agreements and sub-contracts in coordination with the Procurement Manager.
9. Maintaining high morale among direct reports.
Principal duties include:
1. Examining contract documents thoroughly.
2. Highlighting anomalies and ensuring understanding and adherence to contract obligations.
3. Preparing financial projections and valuations for contract control meetings.
4. Coordinating with other departments for contract controls.
5. Managing site measurements, negotiations, and agreements for work valuation.
6. Preparing and agreeing on interim and final valuations and payments.
7. Finalizing contract accounts and ensuring timely submission and agreement.
8. Placing supplier agreements and sub-contracts timely and in accordance with procedures.
9. Managing payments to sub-contractors, suppliers, and specialists.
10. Ensuring all instructions from client representatives are acted upon and obligations met.
11. Recording contractual delays and protecting the company's interests.
12. Preparing contractual claims in coordination with senior management.
13. Establishing cost coding and ensuring compliance.
14. Attending site progress meetings as needed.
15. Coordinating with other departments for prompt payments and service delivery.
16. Advising senior management on issues affecting company performance.
17. Monitoring and reviewing sub-contractor performance.
18. Safeguarding company assets and confidential information.
19. Providing leadership and support to direct reports, fostering continual improvement.
About You
A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a similar field.
Membership in a relevant Professional Institution is preferred but not essential.
Over 10 years of experience in the Construction Industry.
Experience with Public Sector Contracts.
Full clean Irish/EU Driving License.
Authorization to work in Ireland (valid work permit or Stamp 4 visa).
Excellent written and fluent English communication skills.
