Department
Audit Services independently and objectively assesses operational, financial, compliance, risk, and corporate governance processes to evaluate internal controls. The team offers assurance and trusted partnership advice.
Role
The Auditor works within the Asset Management and Wealth Management (AMWM) Team, providing assurance on Northern Trust’s wealth and asset‑management capabilities. The role reports to a Senior Audit Manager and supports the design, execution, and documentation of audits within budget and time constraints.
Major Duties
Develop audit independence; support planning and testing.
Understand audit methodology and standards.
Contribute to work‑papers and identify data‑analytics opportunities.
Perform low or moderate risk testing and manage budget issues.
Assist in drafting audit reports and validating findings.
Qualifications
Knowledge of auditing in the financial services industry and basic accounting principles.
1+ years of auditing or systems experience in a financial institution or public accounting setting.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Strong report‑writing and work‑paper documentation abilities.
Interest in pursuing professional certifications (CPA, CISA, CIA, ACA, ACCA) and/or an MBA is preferred.
