7+ years of work experience within the Compliance & AML/KYC, ideally within the financial services / fintech industry
Experience working with the Central Bank of Ireland other regulatory bodies, if applicable
Ability to partner effectively with a variety of both internal and external stakeholders
Ability to work as part of a wider team of geographically dispersed accomplished professionals
What the job involves
This PCF-12 role carries statutory responsibility under the Central Bank of Ireland's Fitness and Probity Regime. The role involves providing independent oversight of regulatory risks, advising senior management on compliance matters, and ensuring that all local and group compliance requirements are met
The individual will work closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to ensure strong governance, appropriate controls, and a culture of integrity and compliance across the business. This role will be based in Dublin, Ireland and will report to the CEO of Remitly Europe
Lead the design and implementation of the local compliance framework, ensuring alignment with group standards and Irish regulatory expectations
Own the Annual Compliance Plan and direct compliance monitoring, testing, and issue remediation processes
Maintain and update compliance policies, procedures, and manuals to reflect evolving business activity and applicable legal requirements
Serve as the local contact for all compliance-related regulatory engagement, ensuring timely responses to supervisory requests and proactive relationship management
Oversee the preparation and submission of all local regulatory reports, notifications, and returns
Provide regular and ad hoc compliance reporting to the Board, senior management, and group compliance
Identify, assess, and escalation compliance and regulatory risks, including tracking developments in the legal and regulatory environment that may impact the business
Ensure appropriate second line oversight is in place, including reviews of controls, documentation, and business processes
Act as a key adviser to the business on compliance matters, including new product launches, market entry, or strategic initiatives
Support the implementation and maintenance of the AML/CFT programme, including internal training, escalation protocols, and transaction monitoring oversight
Work closely with the MLRO and other control functions to ensure effective financial crime risk management
Develop and deliver regulatory compliance training tailored to local needs and roles
Maintain clear records of compliance activity, including breaches, conflicts of interest, and internal reviews
Collaborate with group compliance teams to align local and global standards and participate in group-led compliance initiatives or remediation work
