About this role
The Clare Echo is seeking a sharp, experienced News Reporter to join our newsroom. The primary focus of this role is delivering authoritative, engaging coverage of Clare County Council meetings, breaking down local politics and policy for our digital and print platforms. You will also cover breaking news and community stories across the county.
Key Responsibilities
Lead coverage of monthly County Council and municipal district meetings.
Produce clean, accurate, and legally sound copy under tight daily deadlines.
Cultivate a strong network of local sources and uncover exclusive stories.
Requirements
A proven track record in local media.
Exceptional time management and the ability to thrive under pressure.
Solid understanding of Irish local government and media law.
Full, clean driving licence and access to a car.
Experience with Adobe InDesign will be looked upon prefereably.
Contract
Full-Time, 1-Year Fixed Term (potential to become permanent)
Salary
€40,000 starting
