Organisational Background Information
Role Title: Finance Controller/Business Partner (12 month FTC)
Business Unit: DHL Global Forwarding
Location: Dublin Airport Logistics Park, St. Margaret’s, Co. Dublin
Scope of Role: The purpose of the role is to build a strong and proactive partnership between various Projects, Operations, Finance and management. A key deliverable is to provide real‑time financial insight and analysis, acting as a trusted adviser who adds value, strengthens commercial performance, and supports effective decision‑making across both products.
Reports to: Subregional Controller IE/UK
Dotted Reporting line: Head of Controlling UK
Direct Line Reports: N/A
Days & Hours of Work: Mon – Fri, 09.00 – 17.30
Role Profiler: Subregional Controller IE/UK
Accountabilities
Key activities

Key Accountabilities Work across various project Functions in IE to provide key financial guidance on operational activities
Build key relationships across all stakeholder groups
Work closely with the business team of OFR and IPR and finance to ensure accurate delivery of month end reporting
Post month end, follow up on any adjustments resolutions with operations
Analyze system dashboards to demonstrate Customer Profitability, File Level Profitability, Shipment Profitability, Consolidation Profitability
Review Productivity analysis, informing and advising RFR Product Head
Resource allocation analysis and insights
Monthly - full Product PL analysis, present to product teams
Detailed monthly forecasting with products and liaise with Finance team to ensure accurate delivery of Rolling Forecast to Sub Region
Detailed variance analysis to budget and rolling forecast, providing insights to Product Head and Finance DAC Cluster
Attend, provide input and challenge weekly product Performance Dialogues

Support Product and Operations on RFQ’s, Bid Analysis, Pricing as require
Maintain a strong customer focus on bridging the gap between Finance and the business. Ensure positive customer experience through an insightful working partnership between Finance and the business.
Understand the business strategy and provide insight into business performance to
Act as a key stakeholder in the decision-making process through financial analysis
Support Effective financial planning and analysis
Provide Product/Operations expertise in accounting processes (accruals, forecasting, customer profitability, Sales, and GP analytics)
Build relationships across the business, enhanced by clear and simplified communication of results
Build Trust and embrace and build partnerships across the organization through collaboration and challenge
Ensure operational compliance to all revenue and international trade legislative requirements, and all requirements under Data Protection Legislation in addition to all DGF IE policies and procedures (H&S, Quality, Environmental, HR, etc), and work in a manner that supports the Company environment programm
Participate in the implementation of operational processes and perform work to the standards of Good Distribution practice (GDP) for Life Science business, as

Skills / Qualifications
Expected years of experience (minimum) - 5 or more years of experience in finance roles (Finance, Business, Controlling)
Expected Qualifications

System Knowledge – JBA System 21, CargoWiseOne operating system an advantage
Knowledge of accounting standards, statutory, regulatory, and legal requirements
Solid experience in MS Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, charts, etc.) required
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), fluent in Ability to explain finance concepts in plain English
Knowledge of IFRS
Accountancy Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA), New Qualified to 1-2 years PQE
Degree educated or equivalent
