IT Operations Specialist (contract)

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Operations Specialist to join our dynamic team in Dundalk. In this role, you will be working as part of a global IT Operations team. As part of the team, you are responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and smooth operation of Vesta’s services. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, utilizing your technical expertise and problem‑solving skills to maintain service stability.
Responsibilities
Monitor applications, infrastructure and networks, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
Create and respond to incidents and service requests, escalating as needed and providing timely resolution.
Utilize monitoring tools to analyze system performance and identify trends.
Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex issues and implement changes.
Communicate and collaborate with Vesta’s Partners to help identify and resolve issues.
Maintain accurate documentation of knowledge articles, processes, and procedures.
Identify and aid in the implementation of automation to streamline operational tasks and improve efficiency.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Qualifications
Proven experience in an IT Operations role, preferably in a 24/7 environment.
Strong understanding of ITIL principles and practices.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
Proficiency in using monitoring tools such as Splunk.
Experience with troubleshooting and resolving issues in complex IT environments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., Proxmox, VMware).
Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
Experience with APIs (SOAP and REST).
Understanding of file transfer protocols and technologies.
