Post Summary: Pytch is an initiative delivered by the School of Computer Science and Statistics at Trinity College Dublin, with the support of TU Dublin and TU Shannon, and in collaboration with other partner organisations. Its goal is to improve engagement with Computer Science and retention in coding courses across the difficult transition from block-based systems (such as
Scratch) to text-based systems (such as Python).Pytch is being used in secondary schools nationally and internationally, and is now expanding the project scope to deliver a series of in in-person workshops for teachers, providing hands-on training and online sharing of knowledge and experiences to support engagement in computer science and STEM education, and to increase access to STEM resources by improving accessibility and Irish language availability of our platform.
The Project Administrator will work closely with the Project Lead and the entire project team to ensure successful roll out of multiple strands of funded project activity.
Post status: Specific Purpose Contract part time
The School of Computer Science and Statistics (SCSS) is seeking to appoint a part-time Administrative Officer 3 position as part of the Pytch project team. The specific purpose of this role is to provide administrative support on the Pytch project. The Project Administrator will work closely with the Project Lead and the entire project team to ensure successful roll out of multiple strands of funded project activity. This post is not offered on an indefinite basis as the project is finite. Termination of the contract will occur on completion of the work in which the successful applicant is engaged in, or in the event of the funding stream being terminated or withdrawn by the funding agency.
Hours of Post: Part-Time (0.4 FTE)
Salary: This appointment will be made on the pro-rated Administrative 3 Salary Scale (€46,410 - €58,086 pro-rata per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales. (tcd.ie)
