Your role is to provide the expert epidemiological voice that provides timely authoritative answers to the critical questions:

Strategic Partnership: Support the Cancer Intelligence leadership by facilitating evidence-based dialogue with stakeholders to support policy development and service planning.
Team Development: Lead and develop a dynamic team of surveillance staff, fostering a culture of analytical excellence and continuous professional development.

The Candidate
We are looking for an expert with the vision to evolve and modernise surveillance methodology and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary leadership structure across a landscape of important hospital, regional and national contributors and stakeholders.

Qualifications: Post-graduate qualification (NFQ Level 9 or higher) in Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field.
Experience: At least 10 years’ experience in epidemiological/surveillance techniques, with a minimum of 3 years in a coordination or team lead role.
Skills: Expertise in complex data analysis, strong technical leadership and the ability to translate scientific findings into clear and timely health systems insight for senior management.

Remuneration & Location

Tenure: Permanent, Whole-time.

If you’re considering a move or want to hear more about the vision for the role, please contact me for an informal chat.
