Company Description
Our client a tier one general contractor are looking for a Project Planner for a Data Centre project in Frankfurt, Germany.
The Project Planner will support the Planning Manager in developing, updating, and analysing construction schedules using Primavera P6. This role requires hands-on involvement in schedule progress tracking, data validation, interface coordination and preparation of planning reports. The Planner will also help manage subcontractor inputs via package managers and support Earned Value and progress-based reporting across multiple disciplines within the project.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support development and maintenance of the integrated master schedule in Primavera P6
* Create and manage detailed discipline-level or work package schedules as required (CSA, MEP, commissioning, etc.)
* Load and maintain progress, actuals, quantities, and durations on a weekly basis
* Coordinate with Package Managers/subcontractors to obtain, review, and integrate their programme updates
* Highlight schedule variances and assist with delay analysis, recovery planning, and reforecasting
* Assist in developing look-ahead schedules and workfront plans (1-week, 4- week, 12-week)
* Run “what-if” simulations and assist in evaluating impact of design, procurement, or site changes
* Provide data and commentary for:
1. Weekly dashboard reports
2. Monthly client progress reports
3. Payment applications and Earned Value reports
* Track dependencies between procurement, engineering, installation, and commissioning milestones
* Support risk, interface, and change tracking in coordination with the wider project controls team
* Liaise with site engineers and package managers to validate reported progress against plan
Required Skills and Experience:
Technical Skills:
* Solid working knowledge of Primavera P6, including schedule updates and basic reporting
* Familiarity with cost and quantity loading to P6 Schedule, and integration with BOQs or budget forecasts
* Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets for supporting calculations, dashboards, and report formatting
* Familiar with digital project management tools (e.g., ACC/BIM 360, Power BI, SharePoint)
Soft Skills:
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
* Clear communicator with ability to work under supervision and as part of a fast-paced delivery team
* Proactive and adaptable, able to manage multiple inputs and update priorities as project evolves
Qualifications:
* Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
* Primavera P6 training or certification (desirable)
* Familiarity with standard forms of contract (NEC/FIDIC) is a plus
* PMP or AACE/PMI-SP certification is an advantage
Desirable:
* Exposure to data center projects or highly serviced buildings
* Experience with construction and commissioning phase planning
* Willingness to take ownership of specific areas (e.g., commissioning schedule lead or CSA works)
