Student Engagement Officer
Location: Duchy College Rosewarne and Camborne
Salary: £24,069.24 FTE / CC_28 / £12.51 per hour (actual pro-rata salary £11,884.50 plus holiday pay £1,736.97, total pro-rata salary £13,621.47, £14.34 per hour)

About the Role
The post holder will play a key role in working with students to facilitate engagement in extra‑curricular and personal development activities for students on campus. Post‑holders will actively work with learners and will not be primarily office or desk based.
Working collaboratively with students and staff, the post holder will design, manage and oversee opportunities that encourage personal development, enhance the student journey, and build a strong sense of community. They will be a key part of student voice within the Student Union but also support students in student social and learning spaces to provide opportunities for students to engage and develop life and employment skills as well as supporting student mental and physical wellbeing.
Whilst the role will be primarily based at the Duchy College Rosewarne Campus, they will be part of the team with Cornwall College Camborne as well and will be required to work across both campuses.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will hold a minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Maths or be willing to obtain these. Staff will be required to complete the College Level 2 Safeguarding and Government Prevent training.
They will ideally hold a relevant qualification such as in Youth Work, Sports/Recreation or Advice and Guidance, and be experienced in supporting or mentoring young people aged 14‑25 as well as adults. Experience in delivering workshops or training, supervising learners and providing information, advice, guidance and welfare support is desirable.
Hours of work
This role is term time only (38 weeks) and 25 hours per week, working over 5 days.
