Post Date : 27-Mar-**** Close Date : 30-Apr-**** Job Title: Professor and Head of School Reporting To: Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Location: 118 St Stephens Green Department: Graduate School of Healthcare Management Contract type/duration: Permanent Professor Post and 4 year Term for Head of School THE ROLE RCSI is seeking to appoint an innovative and visionary leader to the position of RCSI Professor and Head of School in the Graduate School of Healthcare Management.
This is a permanent professorial appointment within RCSI, reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
The successful candidate will be an internationally respected leader with extensive experience in healthcare education, research, and executive management.
They will demonstrate a strong academic track record and the foresight to anticipate future trends in healthcare delivery, shaping the strategic direction of the School accordingly.
This role demands a commitment to driving excellence in education and research, ensuring the highest standards of academic quality and innovation.
The appointee will actively promote and enhance the reputation of the School, positioning it as a leader in healthcare management education and research both nationally and internationally.
They will champion and empower the School's team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture, that supports academic guidance and mentorship to faculty and staff to support scholarly achievement and personal and professional development.
They will build on our success to date, leading and maintaining an environment of excellence in education, which will enable the delivery and continuous improvement of our educational programmes as well as looking for future growth opportunities.
They must also be an internationally competitive leader in an area of research aligned with the Graduate School of Healthcare Management.
The appointment will lead and substantially increase the research profile of the School, and grow RCSI's reputation and leadership profile in Healthcare Management.
They will be able to demonstrate a record of strong academic leadership, as well as education and research excellence, thereby enhancing the School's reputation for scholarly and professional achievement.
Successful experience as a senior academic and/or department lead role is essential.
Experience working in an inter-professional or multi-cultural context would be a distinct advantage as the successful appointee will actively collaborate across Schools and other RCSI campuses.
