Reporting to the Seafreight Manager, the Seafreight Operator will provide a professional and efficient sea freight operations service to both internal and external customers.
Main duties and responsibilities
* Processing shipment bookings for both liner and forwarding operations
* Monitoring shipments from point of customer booking to arrival at final destination and customer payment
* Providing a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers
* Liaising with local and international vendors and agents to ensure that the best rates and services are secured
* Liaising with transport vendors regarding collections or deliveries
* Processing sales and purchases invoices and dealing with any queries relating to customer/creditor invoices
* Dealing with rate requests and issuing quotations
* Customs Clearance awareness – SAD's, requirements, Etc
* Development of sea freight services
Additional Duties
* Vessel Attendance Cover
* Assisting with holiday cover within the operations office
* Providing administration support to other freight departments when required
* Occasional Customer visits
* Projects
Cary out any additional duties which may be assigned from time to time
