Senior Engineer (Commercial Build)

: Cork - Candidates must be based in Ireland to be considered

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our clients team in the Cork Area. This is a pivotal role for a professional with a strong background in commercial construction, including hotels, office blocks, and high-rise residential developments. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing site engineering activities, ensuring exceptional quality standards, and maintaining full compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.

Concrete frame and building experience is essential.

Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Senior Engineer will lead the planning, coordination, and supervision of all engineering aspects of the project. You will work closely with site personnel and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and excellence in execution.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage Junior Engineers and Subcontractors on site
* Perform setting-out from engineers' drawings, site surveys, and as-built documentation
* Interpret technical drawings for layouts, measurements, and materials
* Collaborate with subcontractors and general workforce to maintain workflow
* Plan and sequence works efficiently to meet program targets
* Liaise with client representatives and design team members as required
* Uphold the highest standards of Health & Safety on site
* Ensure all work meets rigorous quality benchmarks
* Manage ordering and control of materials
* Maintain accurate site records and documentation

Candidate Requirements

* Third-level qualification in Engineering or a related discipline
* Minimum 3-5 years' experience in construction engineering, with proven involvement in commercial or high-rise residential builds
* Strong understanding of concrete frame construction
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Self-motivated with a focus on safety, quality, and program delivery
* Proficient in IT and engineering software tools
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
* Full, clean driving license

Candidates must be eligible to work full time and long term in the location specified or currently hold a valid appropriate long term work Visa to apply.
