Role Profile
The School of Computing is seeking to appoint an exceptionally qualified candidate at the level of Associate Professor in Computing, to join its team of talented academics. The successful candidate will be recognised as a leader in their discipline, hold a reputation for academic excellence and have an extensive portfolio of internationally competitive research. They will be expected to provide leadership through active engagement in teaching and learning, research and scholarship and administration in the School, Faculty and University, as well as make outstanding contributions to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes through innovative teaching, supervision of laboratory sessions, student mentoring and supervision of taught and research projects. They will be expected to influence research and scholarship and contribute to advancing the School’s research agenda, including building strong partnerships and collaborations with industry partners. Reporting to the Head of School, the successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across the School and Faculty, including the School Teaching Convenor, the School Research Convenor and other senior post‑holders. The role requires building strong, collaborative relationships with professional support staff, as well as technical and pedagogy specialists, alongside active engagement with key stakeholders both within and beyond DCU.
Salary Scale
Associate Professor – €91,090 – €120,061 (refer to DCU Payscales for the applicable payscale). Appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in line with current Government pay policy.
