We're recruiting a Finance Assistant to join our Banking Team.
Reporting to the Banking Team Lead the Finance Assistant will work with the finance Department's Banking team ensuring daily banking activities and reconciliation are completed accurately and in line with strict deadlines.

You'll work majority of your week away from home. Away from home means either attendance at one of our head office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.
What you'll be doing:
* Deliver high quality service to external and internal parties.
* Provide support to the branch network for receipting, closedown and lodgements.
* Ensure cheque tracking and processing is kept up to date and appropriate adjustments posted.
* Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, research discrepancies and clear down in a timely manner.
* Prepare and post accurate, timely and complete journal information to the general ledger system.
* Reconcile bank account to the general ledger and post adjusting entries in a timely manner.
* Maintain appropriate evidence for reconciliations and controls.
* Work closely with third parties to ensure all jobs processed efficiently (IT, corporate banking).
* Provide support on ad hoc projects and internal/external audits as required.
* Provide support to other finance teams as and when required.

What we're looking for:
* Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role
* Qualified in or currently pursuing a relevant business qualification e.g. Diploma/IATA.
* Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
* Knowledge of general accounting concepts (i.e. debits; credits)
* Ability to work on own initiative, as well as part of a team.
* Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills and effective organisational skills.
* Working knowledge of SOLUS mainframe and/or SAP general ledger would be beneficial.
* Within the Data Protection Act and AXA Global Security Guidelines, utilises IT systems and packages to generate information and enhance presentation and quality work.
* In order to develop staff and their skills expertise, staff may be rotated across relevant Finance functions.
