Carraighill was voted as one of the most influential European independent research firms in the Institutional Investor annual survey.The role:We are looking for a graduate research analyst to join the Carraighill team, based in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin. This role will initially involve:Modelling & Reports: Building, improving, updating, and maintaining research reports.Data Analytics: Using statistical, economic, and data modelling techniques and tools.Collating: Extracting and collating data from Carraighill's in-house database and analysing economic and sector news flow.Market Monitoring: Interpreting data trends and monitoring global market developments.Contribution: Contributing to internal discussions on investment themes (interest rates, inflation, debt, political risks, equity & credit markets, and more).Client Interaction: Communicating research findings with clients.The ideal candidate will have:Academic Background: An undergraduate degree or higher in a relevant field (economics, statistics, business, accounting, engineering, finance, computer science, mathematics, physics, actuarial or similar).Analytics: Outstanding analytical and quantitative skills and the ability to build and analyse financial models.Interests: A keen interest in data, investing, and a curiosity of how the financial world works with an independent and counter-consensus thought process. Communication: Strong communication and presentation skills; verbal and written and an aspiration to engage with and build relationships with clients.Technical Proficiency: Excellent IT capability, including a high level of competence in MS Office (particularly Excel).Work Ethic: Ability to multi-task and work both independently and as part of a team and the ability to take direction and follow and maintain a detailed process with a personal desire to learn and grow. Additional desirable experience:Experience working with statistical data programs (R, SQL, Tableau, Python, SPSS, STATA, or similar).A side project or hobby in a relevant area (e.g. Investing, coding, policy or data).Evidence of achievements outside the world of academia.We are looking for a highly ambitious individual with a passion for data and investing.
