Great National Ballykisteen Hotel at Limerick Junction, Tipperary has a fantastic opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join their exceptional and expanding team and oversee the daily operations of the hotel at senior level.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Deputy General Manager will oversee the running of the key functions in the hotel and work closely with the Department Heads to ensure the smooth operation of their departments, ensuring high-quality customer service and maintaining our standards of excellence throughout.
This role requires leadership, communication, and organisational skills to manage diverse teams and departments effectively.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality management with extensive F&B managerial experience in particular.
You will inspire the team to deliver excellent customer service and be passionate about the guest experience from start to finish, while having a strong focus on business efficiency and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional guest experience by ensuring consistent, high service standards and prompt resolution of guest queries and feedback.
Support departmental managers in achieving quality, audit, mystery shopper, and brand standards.
Oversee day‑to‑day hotel operations in collaboration with department heads, maintaining Great National Hotel standards at all times.
Lead, support, and develop teams through effective training, performance management, coaching, and succession planning.
Promote a positive, professional workplace culture, ensuring compliance with HR policies, disciplinary, and grievance procedures.
Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, emergency procedures, security standards, and audit requirements.
Act as Duty Manager as required, maintaining a visible leadership presence during peak periods.
Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training coordination, and employee development initiatives.
Support financial performance through effective labour management, cost control, cash handling compliance, and sales maximisation.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and customer care standards across the hotel.
Communicate effectively with the General Manager, departmental managers, and teams to ensure smooth operations and clear handovers.
Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, preventative maintenance planning, and operational projects as directed.
Ideal Candidate:
3-4 years' experience as a Deputy General Manager, Operations Manager, or Senior Hotel Manager
Extensive F&B managerial experience
Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills
Commercially aware with a hands‑on leadership style
Passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences
Have full permission or hold a valid visa to work in the EU.
Flexibility to work varying shifts and weekends, as required.
Fluent English - both written and spoken
