As a Fleet Manager for Sysco Ireland, you will be responsible for managing the company's modern vehicle fleet of artic's, trailers, trucks, vans, and cars.
Ensuring that it is operating efficiently, cost-effectively, and safely.
The role involves assisting the Transport management team and overseeing the various fleet maintenance providers relationships, as well as liaising with suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure that the fleet is properly maintained and serviced.
Reporting to the National Fleet Manager the role will provide management and administrative services vital to maintaining the overall compliance of the largest food distribution fleet in Ireland.
The role is based at our Dublin Distribution Centre with a requirement to travel nationwide between our various depots to conduct field-based activities.

Key Accountabilities Continuous administration of the Fleet management system "Truckfile", ensuring vehicle documents, test reports, and inspections are updated Responsibility for maintaining the Fleet asset register, ensuring vehicle data is accurate Assist the national transport management teams with vehicle maintenance, arranging transfers, investigating repeat defects to reduce our fleet Vehicle Off Road rate Monitoring of all 3rd party vendors ensuring they are completing their scheduled fleet maintenance activities on time and submitting their respective fleet documents onto "Truckfile" for assessment Supporting the National Fleet Manager with regular tasks including cost and vehicle performance analysis Analysing and compiling vital KPI's that accurately detail fleet performance Conducting and compiling vehicle audits, identifying defects and following up with workshops to ensure repairs are completed Overseeing the fleets various telematics systems, providing data and analysis to other Operations departments vital to their compliance Processing of Accident report forms, assisting with Incident investigation and following up with Insurance company claims Ensuring vendor invoices are processed against PO numbers, quotations, and defect reports.
Maintain company PO database / follow up late invoices with vendors Management of the Company Car fleet including assisting our driver colleagues with defects, arranging repairs/services/call outs for breakdowns Ensuring Sysco Ireland's Fleet remains in-line with all current and legislative requirements vital to our company's integrity as the lead Food distributor in Ireland Requirements Experience within a busy distribution role and knowledge of HGV legislative requirements Understand the fundamentals of the FTAI TruckSafe standards as well as Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Act Previous experience in fleet management, logistics, or a related field Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Web based database systems Ability to collect substantial amounts of data regarding fleet operations, quickly analyse and provide useful metrics for management Must have own vehicle & full driver's license as there will be a requirement to travel to all outer depots and vendor sites Flexible working hours and ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative Qualification in a related Engineering discipline an advantage Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues Proficiency in the use of fleet management software and other relevant tools The duties and responsibilities outlined in this job description are neither definitive nor restrictive and may change in detail from time-to-time to meet the changing needs of the business.
