At Apleona, we are always seeking talented and dynamic individuals to join our teams. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Manager who will have overall responsibility for risk mitigation across multiple sites. The successful candidate will bring a strong background in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and compliance, ensuring the highest standards are maintained throughout all operations.
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week.
Main duties and responsibilities
Undertake formal appointments under the Construction Regulations as required e.g. PSDP / PSCS
Support the development of Contract specific RAMS, taking into account site specific hazards and control measures with a view to mitigating risks
Ensure that the contract meets the necessary legislative obligations and drive the continuous improvement of Health, Safety and related Environmental Management
Coordinate and support local H&S training requirements, including support with scheduling training and retaining records as required
Interpreting client Asbestos survey findings and ensuring that these are factored into all works undertaken by or managed by Apleona
Support with vetting Contractor Compliance locally including reviewing their RAMS for site and task specific activities, uploading these to the client portal, providing safety information to the contractors and ensuring that the required Client H&S training is completed
Assist the Operations Team, including Senior Management as requested
Coordinate the permit to work requirements for the contract
Using a variety of communication methods, provide EHS advice and support
Monitor and report on performance across the contract including Client and Apleona KPI’s
Undertake planned audits in accordance with the pre-defined schedule
Manage all incident investigations as required and report in accordance with Client and Apleona standards, enabling the investigation of accidents and compilation of accident data
Management and administration of various other compliance matters, as necessary, or as directed by the Account Director
Develop and implement local plans to maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 compliance at contract level in accordance with Apleona ISO Management System
Any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager
Ability to drive and travel on a national basis and may require overnight stays
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (Minimum Level 7 Major Award)
Experience in working within Construction regulations.
Working knowledge of ISO Standards; 9001, 14001 or 45001
Proven EHS Management experience in a comparable Technical Industry
Experience in conducting incident investigations and implementing appropriate remedial actions.
Competence to undertake Compliance/Technical/ISO internal audits
Must have a detailed understanding of industry regulations and legislation/standards across the island of Ireland and maintain this knowledge.
Previous experience delivering in-house training and developing training packages.
Full, Clean and current driving license – with access to own vehicle
Certified or Chartered member of IOSH
Manual Handling Instructor and Trained First Aider
