Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of planning applications and environmental assessments for a wide range of renewable energy projects.
Main Responsibilities
* Assist Senior Project Managers/Project Directors with design, planning, and environmental assessment requirements for Renewable Energy projects up to consenting decision.
* Coordinate management of associated documents, including EIA and AA Screening, Planning & Environmental Reports, Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (if required), and Appropriate Assessments/Natura Impact Statement reports as required for multiple renewable energy projects.
* Manage coordination of baseline environmental and constraints assessments and facilitate interaction between project team members as needed.
* Support planning team in staying up-to-date with planning/environmental legislation, policy decisions, and updates to national, regional, and local authority development plans by reviewing and identifying key developments for projects.
* Contribute to company submissions as necessary.
* Assist Communications and Engagement team with developing effective project plans for managing consultation with local communities and other relevant stakeholders, including statutory and non-statutory consultees.
* Support planning team and community engagement team with preparation for and attendance at Community Events as required.
Requirements
1. Hons Degree (Lvl 8 FETAC) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent.
2. Postgraduate (Lvl 9 FETAC) qualification in a relevant discipline, desirable but not essential.
3. Minimum of 3 years of experience assisting with/inputting into planning applications and Environmental Assessment.
4. Proven knowledge and experience in project development for planning applications, particularly in coordinating and managing environmental assessments.
5. Strong experience working with and managing multidisciplinary project teams.
6. Solid understanding of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process and familiarity with Irish planning policy and legislation related to EIA.
7. Experience in renewable energy and associated infrastructure projects, particularly Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID) projects.
8. Background in managing diverse project types with varying priorities, risk levels, and timelines.
9. Experience coordinating the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR) and Appropriate Assessments (AA/NIS).
10. Technical expertise in a discipline related to EIA (e.g., ecology, noise, air quality, etc.).
