Our hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Oncology Day Unit Nurse to join our specialist oncology team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred care to oncology and haematology patients receiving day-case chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive treatments in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* To be aware of the policies and practices set out by the Department of Health on safe administration of cytotoxic preparations.
* To work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients receiving chemotherapy have continued access to specialist care, knowledge, and expertise.
* The administration of prescribed cytotoxic chemotherapy to oncology patients via cannula, PICC, Hickman or Portacath.
We are looking for an individual with two years clinical experience preferred. Postgraduate qualification in Oncology Nursing or Haematology Nursing would be beneficial. Experience in a day unit or outpatient oncology environment is also required. Competency in use of infusion devices and chemotherapy protocols would be advantageous.
