Role Overview
* Position: Carpenter
* Reporting to: Field Supervisor
* Location: Dublin and surrounding areas
* Contract: Permanent
* Salary: €46,850.00
The Department has a Dublin based Resource Planning Team (Clúid Works), supporting four regionally based repair trade teams and delivering a comprehensive repairs service across the country. This team works alongside the Asset Management Team and the New Business Team to bring new properties into management.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure all repairs are completed in accordance with the purpose “right repair, right time, first time”, including responsive repairs, voids, subcontracting and out‑of‑hours repairs.
* Carry out carpentry works within void, responsive repairs and planned services, maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
* Manage customer enquiries and coordinate with the Operations Centre, providing professional communication.
* Provide out‑of‑hours support on a rota‑based system.
* Prepare debriefs for the Resource Planner for all jobs and report job details and estimated times on location.
* Respond to all job allocations, ensuring timely and efficient repair delivery.
* Work flexible hours and “on‑call” shifts as required to meet business needs and demand.
* Take personal responsibility for transport, equipment and mobile phone devices, keeping them in excellent condition.
* Adhere to Clúid Housing policies, procedures and values, exercising discretion and maintaining safety obligations.
* Contribute to team objectives under the direction of the Field Supervisor.
Training
* Act as a mentor to trainees and encourage a learning environment.
* Undertake additional duties as required, receiving full training and supervision where necessary.

Education / Qualifications
* Safe Pass
* Full Trade Apprenticeship (Carpentry)
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
Essential
* Roofing experience.
* Ability to work at heights.
* Good knowledge of the general building and construction industry.
* Basic Health & Safety knowledge.
* Experience fixing or replacing door and window ironmongery.
* Experience of both first and second fix.
* Experience ordering and collecting materials, and plant hire.
* Problem‑solving skills and decision‑making confidence.
* Experience in tiling bathrooms and shower enclosures.
* Full, current driving licence.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent personal presentation and time‑keeping.
* Excellent customer‑service skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Ability to work with plans, drawings and specifications.
* Technical skills in carpentry and associated trades.
Desirable
* Property management experience.
* Plastering and patch plastering experience.
* Property maintenance experience.
* Experience within the Social Housing Sector.
* Numeracy skills.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
