Chief Fire Officer
The post holder is responsible for the overall management and administration of Kilkenny County Council’s Fire and Rescue Service and Civil Defence. Duties include strategic planning and implementing change throughout the Fire and Emergency Services. The Chief Fire Officer may also manage additional functions at the discretion of the Chief Executive.
The Chief Fire Officer will prepare budgetary estimates for their area of operation and work within allocated finances for best effect. They must work across section teams, interact with other area/teams and with Chief Fire Officers in adjacent local authority areas, and liaise with property owners, Government Departments, the public, media, courts, elected members, and staff/union representatives.
