Role Overview Killary Adventure Centre is a busy, diverse and dynamic adventure centre in the West of Ireland, situated in Leenane, Co Galway. This role manages the front desk operations of Killary Adventure Centre, serving as the primary point of contact for all arriving guests. Ranging from school groups and summer camps to adult activity groups, and corporate clients. The successful candidate will handle administrative tasks, guest relations, sales of on-site services, and support hospitality team in day-to-day operations. Key Duties and Responsibilities 1. Front of House and Guest Relations Greet all visitors and guests arriving, providing a welcoming and professional first impression of the company. Offer detailed information about Killary Adventure activities, local attractions, and services. Manage front desk inquiries in person and via phone, particularly from teachers, group leaders, and adult visitors. Handle guest check-ins, check-outs, and specific requests. Answering the phone and transferring callers to various offices. 2. Administration and Bookings Coordination Monitor reception emails, responding to queries related to the Accommodation Department Input booking details accurately into their relevant systems. Meal numbers, room requests, catering requirements etc. Liaise closely with other departments to ensure seamless communication regarding group arrivals and requirements. 3. Stock Management and Operations Support Assist with maintaining and ordering for essential stock for the Accommodation Department. 4. Winter Season Responsibilities During quieter months, assist with general maintenance coordination of rooms, offices, and staff accommodation. Undertake preparatory work for the following year's bookings, updating files, and assisting with projects for new ideas and systems implementation. Person Specification The ideal candidate must have the following attributes: Proven experience in a reception, front of house, hospitality, or administrative role, preferably within an active or tourism-focused environment. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable interacting with diverse client groups (youths, adults, teachers, corporate clients). Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail for data entry. Proficiency in standard office software and a quick learner for internal booking systems and email platforms. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a busy, shared office environment. Proactive approach to problem-solving and guest service. Desirable Attributes: A keen interest in outdoor activities or the local Connemara area. Experience with a booking management system. Staff Accommodation is available.
