Relief Chef - Required For Nursing Home
Reporting to: Director of Nursing
We require a Relief Chef to manage who would be based out of our Cork homes. This role requires someone with previous experience working in a nursing home kitchen, leading and motivating a team and ensuring to follow HACCP and hygiene standards. Our Munster homes include CareChoice Montenotte, CareChoice Ballynoe, Beaumont Residential care, CareChoice Macroom and Brookfield Nursing home. On occasion you may be asked to cover CareChoice Dungarvan and CareChoice Clonakilty.
We provide the highest standards of home care possible and are looking for someone who can contribute to our luxurious, high end service, delivering the best quality food to our residents.
Key Responsibilities
* Food preparation and production to the agreed meal plan with consideration for all residents dietary requirements
* Prepare and cook dishes to menu specifications.
* Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation are up to standard.
* Follow dietary requirements and allergen protocols.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
* Responsibility for HACCP in all Mini-kitchens throughout Nursing home
* Complete end-of-day cleaning duties and ensure proper food storage.
* Log temperatures, deliveries, and cleaning checks.
* Handle paperwork related to health & safety or stock control

* Experience working in the kitchen of a nursing home and with food textures
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment
* Be able for the physicality demands of the job
* Encourage, train and guide a team while maintaining a happy environment
* Be passionate about elder care and contribute to their happy living environment
* Excellent time management
* Ability to work independently or in a team
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong knowledge of food safety standards
