Overview
We are hiring a Senior Compliance Officer to join a growing compliance team within a regulated financial services environment. This role has a strong focus on Anti-Financial Crime and plays a key part in maintaining and strengthening AML, KYC, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
You'll work closely with business teams and wider compliance stakeholders, providing oversight, guidance, and hands-on support across onboarding, monitoring, reporting, and training activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and enhance the local compliance framework in line with regulatory and industry standards
* Monitor and interpret EU regulatory developments, particularly relating to AML and CFT
* Review client and fund onboarding files to ensure AML/KYC compliance, including due diligence and documentation requirements
* Perform regular and ad-hoc reviews of client files
* Review and oversee sanctions screening alerts, account restrictions, and blocking rules
* Ensure timely preparation and escalation of SARs/STRs where required
* Support the business with due diligence requests and compliance-related queries
* Design and deliver AML/CFT and fraud awareness training, including tracking completion
* Provide ad-hoc training to targeted groups on specific compliance topics
* Contribute to internal and external reporting, including management and committee reports
* Support quarterly compliance and KPI reporting
* Act as a senior point of support within the team, stepping in for management as needed to ensure continuity
Requirements
* Degree in Law, Finance, or a related discipline (preferred)
* Strong understanding of the funds or financial services industry
* 5+ years' experience in Compliance (2nd line of defence) or a related area such as Audit, Risk, Legal, or Controls
* Solid knowledge of AML, KYC, financial crime, fraud, and market abuse prevention
* Experience working with senior stakeholders in a complex, matrix-style organisation
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
* Clear, confident communicator with the ability to explain complex issues simply
* Proactive, self-motivated, and solutions-focused
* Excellent English required; additional European languages are an advantage
