The Role The Executive Architectwillworkaspartofateamwithin South Dublin County Councils Architectural Services Department.
Reporting to a Senior Executive Architectora Senior Architect,orsuchdesignated person/personsasmaybeassignedfromtimetotime,theywillassistinthedeliveryofaprogrammeofarchitecturalwork.
The Executive Architectwillalsoberesponsibleforateamof Graduate Architectsand/ or Assistant Architectswhoareengagedincarryingoutdutieswithinthe Countys Architectural Services Department.
Theofficeiswholetime,permanentandpensionable.
Apanelwillbe formedtofillpermanentandtemporaryvacancies.
Personsemployedwill berequiredtoworkinanylocationwithinthe South Dublinadministrative area.
Salary €59,658-€61,829-€64,000-€66,175-€68,349-€70,521- €72,696,€74,857-€77,043-€79,209-€81,706(1st LS1) €82,929(2nd LSI).
Hours of Work Thesuccessfulcandidatesnormalhoursofworkwillbe35hoursper week.
SDCCreservestherighttoalteryourhoursofworkfromtimeto time.
Annual Leave Annual leave entitlement for this position is 30 days.
Qualifications Character Candidates will be of good character.
Health Eachcandidatemustbeinastateofhealthsuchaswouldindicatea reasonableprospectofabilitytorenderregularandefficientservice.
Essential Education, Training and Experience Eachcandidatemust,onthelatestdateforreceiptofcompleted application forms: Hold a professional qualification in Architecture, that is prescribed underthe Building Control Act2007,oraqualificationin Architecture that is equivalent toa qualification so prescribed.
Beeligibleforregistrationasan Architectunderthe Building Control Act2007withoutrequiringfurtherassessment.
Anyappointmentwill be subject to registration under the Act.
Haveatleastfouryearssatisfactoryexperienceofarchitecturalwork.
Haveexperienceinthedesignofbuildings,thepreparationofsketchplans,workingdrawings,detailsandspecification;and Have a satisfactory knowledge of public service organisation.
Desirable Education, Training and Experience Possessstrongprofessionalknowledgeandskills.
Havesatisfactoryexperiencesupervisingstaffandbeabletoworkwithin,takedirection,andshowleadershipaspartofamulti- disciplinaryteam,andhavetheabilitytomotivateandencourage personnelundertheircontroltoachievemaximumperformance.
Haveanabilitytoworkindependentlyandontheirowninitiative.
Havestronginterpersonalandcommunicationskills.
Possess strong organisational skills.
Possessstrong ITandpresentationskills,includingexpertknowledge of relevant software including Autodesk Auto CAD and Revit, Adobe Photoshopand In Design, Sketchupand Microsoftpackagesandthe principles of BIM management.
Haveagoodworkingknowledgeordemonstrateanabilitytoacquireagoodworkingknowledgeofthelegal,regulatoryandgovernance frameworkwithinwhich South Dublin County Counciloperatesand adhere to corporate policies, protocols and procedures.
Haveagoodknowledgeandawarenessof Healthand Safety legislationandregulations,theimplicationsfortheorganisationandtheemployee,andtheirapplicationintheworkplace.

Duties The duties may include but are not limited to: Working as part of a team to deliver a programme of new build and refurbishment projects and providing architectural services for the ongoing development and management of the Councils building stock.
Designinghousingschemes,communityfacilitiesandotherinfrastructural improvements works.
