Offer description

We are seeking a dedicated Therapy Support Specialist to join our team in Kerry. This permanent, full-time contract is for 39 hours per week and offers a competitive salary scale of €32,372 to €37,617 pro rata per annum.

About the Role:

* The successful candidate will provide clinical and administrative support to Therapists in the Children's Disability Network Team.
* They will work under the supervision of a professional therapist(s) to assist in providing high-quality services to users.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support Therapists with clinical duties and tasks as required.
2. Manage own caseload in accordance with the needs of the post.
3. Collaborate with children, family, carers and other staff in treatment / intervention planning and provision of support and advice.

Requirements:

* Certificate in Health Service Skills or Healthcare Support with Occupational Therapy Assistant modules 1 and 2, or with Physiotherapy Assistant modules 1 and 2, or with Speech and Language Therapy Assistant modules 1 and 2, at Level 5 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) maintained by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI).
* Or relevant healthcare qualification at not less than Level 5 on the NFQ and undertaking to participate in the appropriate Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant/Speech and Language Therapy Assistant training modules 1 and 2 within 1 year of taking up duty.
* Or currently employed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physiotherapy Assistant, Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, Healthcare Assistant, Attendant, Multi-Task Attendant or in a comparable role for at least 1 year and giving an undertaking to acquire the appropriate Level 5 or Occupational Therapy Assistant or Physiotherapy Assistant or Speech and Language Therapy Assistant training programme within 1 year of taking up duty.

Desirable Criteria:

* Experience of working in a Therapy Department.
* Proven experience of working with children with disabilities.
* Experience of working directly with child/young person to develop life skills to support overall wellbeing.
