We are seeking a passionate and high‑performing National Accounts Development Manager to drive growth across Unilever’s Homecare business in Ireland. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and excels at building collaborative relationships with both internal teams and external partners.
As a National Accounts Development Manager, you will play a critical role in developing and executing customer business plans, strengthening key customer partnerships, and delivering category growth through insight‑led, shopper‑focused strategies.
What you will be doing
Lead the relationship between Unilever and key retail customers within the Homecare category, ensuring excellent customer experience while delivering strong commercial results.
Build strong and sustainable relationships with customer buying teams and stakeholders
Develop and deliver strategic business plans for Homecare categories
Lead negotiations on trade terms, funding agreements, and promotional activity
Manage key customer events including new product launches and cost price changes
Create and execute integrated category promotional plans and present these to customers
Ensure strong in‑store activation of key campaigns and product launches
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Category Managers, Shopper Marketing, and Customer Operations
Support digital initiatives that enhance category growth and shopper engagement
Accountabilities
In this role, you will hold full responsibility for the commercial performance of your accounts within the Homecare category.
Manage the customer P&L and overall investment for Homecare categories
Monitor performance against forecast and take corrective action where needed
Manage accruals, pricing, and trade investment accurately
Ensure compliance with agreed trade terms and resolve any breaches
Deliver turnover, market share, and profitability targets
Provide accurate and timely inputs into key business processes such as promotional evaluation, business planning, and sales reporting
Complete all required customer administration including pricing, rebates, promotional proposals, and contracts
What we are looking for
We are looking for a commercially driven and collaborative individual who can balance strategic thinking with strong executional delivery. Ideally, you will have:
Previous experience in a Customer Account Manager or National Account role, ideally within FMCG
A strong understanding of the Irish Convenience sector and its unique dynamics
Proven experience managing or contributing to a customer P&L
Strong negotiation and relationship‑building skills
An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities
Experience working cross‑functionally with category, marketing, and supply chain teams
A data‑driven approach and curiosity for digital tools and insights
Experience in Shopper Marketing or Category Management would be advantageous but is not essential
