We are seeking a seasoned Civil Construction Manager to lead our projects from start to finish. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of project budgets and feasibility studies, implementing cost-saving strategies, and preparing comprehensive tender documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and manage project budgets and feasibility appraisals to ensure timely completion and optimal resource allocation.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement value engineering opportunities that drive efficiency and savings.
* Prepare and submit high-quality tender documentation, including bills of quantities, to secure project wins.
* Analyze tender returns to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and make informed decisions on awarding contracts.
* Compile and present financial reports to stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
* Operate and maintain our in-house cost management system, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness.
* Adhere to quality, environmental, and health & safety management systems to ensure a safe working environment.
* Recommend payment schedules and negotiate compensation costs with contractors and suppliers.
* Conduct thorough program analysis to identify bottlenecks and optimize project timelines.
* Supervise and mentor support staff to ensure they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
Requirements:
* Hold a third-level qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management, or a related field.
* Be chartered or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body.
* Possess at least 4 years of experience working on civil projects with main contractors or PQS consultants.
* Demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.
* Be proactive and commercially focused, with a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
