Responsibilities
Perform the duties of a Supplier Quality Engineer 2, providing support and improvement to the quality system under moderate supervision.
Assist Senior Quality Engineers in their responsibilities, evaluating, revising, and implementing system aspects as assigned.
Maintain the supplier quality management system in line with established policies, supporting compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide quality guidance and support to cross-functional departments.
Participate in Supplier Review Committee meetings, ensuring transparent and effective communication.
Conduct global supplier qualification audits, monitor supplier performance, manage corrective actions, and deliver metrics and periodic reports.
Maintain and oversee the Supplier Audit Schedule to ensure ongoing compliance.
Act as the supplier quality representative during internal audits and designated supplier engagements.
Ensure Quality Agreements are established and maintained; conduct joint business reviews and approve supplier documentation per agreement requirements.
Contribute to design teams by supporting design inputs, component and process design, and verification of design outputs against inputs.
Interface with external suppliers and internal manufacturing, engineering, regulatory, quality, materials, operations personnel, and senior management.
Provide guidance and training to technical and administrative personnel, new hires, and junior engineers.
Maintain a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and managing shifting priorities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 2–5 years relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 0–2 years equivalent experience.
Experience or working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as stamping, grinding, electro-polishing, moulding, and plastics commodities.
Strong knowledge of quality and process improvement methodologies, including Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, sampling plans, and statistics.
Initiative to develop and improve systems and processes that enhance product safety, consistency, efficiency, and cost reduction.
Ability to read, write, and interpret specifications, inspection criteria, schematics, and mechanical drawings; contribute to revisions as needed.
Solid understanding of Design and Process FMEA (DFMEA / PFMEA).
Working knowledge of Quality System Regulations (21CFRPart820) and international medical device standards (ISO**** / ISO*****); audit training or certification desirable.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, communicate professionally in team environments, and provide training and guidance to junior engineers and new hires.
